In the nick of time.

Just to share this one before it goes off to be delivered..

cushion

Luckily there was some lovely light this morning to catch it but I suddenly realised that the spot I had chosen was really a bit messy if you pan out..

The watering can has most definitely seen better days..

and the upturned yellow trug has holes in but I keep it to clean out the chickens!

Anyway, the cushion is finished on time and that's the main thing so I am off
to deliver it to where it needs to go.

Brrrrr..

WIP- cushion

The weather has turned chilly here but no snow this far south so this weekend it's time to light the log burner and sit inside sewing and doing crochet. There have been a few sunny spells between the clouds to get some pictures of my making to share with you lot.
Above is the cushion started last week. The background is lots of scraps of linen and cotton cut into 3" squares and machined into rows. Next the leaves were stuck lightly with a spay on glue before zig zagging round each one to hold it in place. Finally I am adding some hand stitching to quilt the piece onto some cotton batting. Still a way to go and a deadline of this Friday as it is a present for my Aunty who is 80 this week!
As I mentioned last week, the inspiration came from here,
but I couldn't find the article so this is just my version.

WIP moorland blanket

The moorland blanket is also growing but only slowly. I will get there and I am not in any rush but I am loving the pattern with it's gentle waves of colour.

Early daffs from the local roadside stall

Just had to show you these beauties! I love to see the bright yellow of the early daffs on the local roadside stalls. The garden is miles behind with only a few shoots here and there but these yellow jewels catching the sunlight on the window sill remind me of what will be here soon.

Lots of work in progress..

I seem to have a lot of work in progress at the moment and can't quite decide which to work on first.
The lovely yarn is a Moorland Yarn Pack which I received for Christmas and enables me to join the CAL started by Lucy from Attic24 last Friday.
Unusually for me, I did do the test samples to check the gauge and hook size needed. Consequently I am only on the 8th colour out of 20 for this week so may take a bit longer than expected
but that's ok I am not in a rush.
It is a lovely pattern and the beginning of the blanket feels very dense and cosy.
It was intended as a present but I am getting very attached to it already!

I just cant resist a close up of those gorgeous colours..

The other work in progress are a pair of oven gloves to replace our very tired looking ones, and a cushion. The cushion was inspired by this one I found on pinterest and is only in the early stages.

Anyway I had better get going and do some sewing or none of them will ever get done!

Happy new year to you all.
